The story of Bella Brewing and the MooseChuck begins in the mid-2000’s when the owners, Marc (Moose) and Charles (Chuck), were first “legally” introduced to craft beer. Chuck grew up outside of Seattle, WA near the home of one of the original craft breweries in the country, Redhook Brewery. Drinking Redhook ESB was Chuck’s first introduction into what real craft beer meant and the endless flavor possibilities. Around the same time across the country, near Kansas City, MO, Moose was having an epiphany of his own as a frequent visitor of Boulevard Brewing Co. drinking Boulevard’s Wheat Ale. Moose would never look back.
Although their passion for craft beer continued to grow independently, after completing school, they both pursued the typical 9 to 5 office jobs, which ultimately lead each of them and their young families to move to the Treasure Valley area in the mid-2010. Then in 2018 Moose and Chuck were first introduced while working together at their office jobs, which happened to be conveniently located near Sockeye Brewing Co., in Boise, ID. It was while grabbing a quick beer after work that Moose and Chuck reminisced about the beers they grew up on and each of their dreams to one day be involved in the craft beer industry and someday start their own brewery.
Naturally, home brewing was the next step. It wasn’t more than six months in to the new home brewing endeavor that an opportunity presented itself that Moose and Chuck could not pass up, at least not without regret. After several months of attempting to convince their wives, Moose and Chuck were successful in the continued pursuit of their dream. On December 27, 2018, they became the owners of Bella Brewing and the MooseChuck was born!
Together, Moose and Chuck have a vision to create a place and a product where strangers could become friends and encourage lasting experiences centered around an appreciation for well-crafted beer; as Moose and Chuck experienced decades before. With the help of Head Brewer, Marcos’, hard work and passion for making top notch beer, as well as a knowledgeable and committed team, the dream of Bella is slowly transforming into a reality. This is just the beginning, and Marc and Chuck are excited for the future of Bella Brewing. Come join the MooseChuck on its journey!
